Welcome from the Preceptor

Dr. Barbara Griffith
President, Duke Raleigh Hospital
Thank you for your interest in the Duke Raleigh Hospital Administrative Fellowship. We are delighted to introduce our new fellowship program and look forward to welcoming our inaugural fellow in July 2026.
For anyone exploring a career in health administration, there is no better way to learn than by stepping into the daily work of a thriving hospital. Our fellowship offers exactly that; a rotational, hands-on experience that lets each fellow shape projects around their own interests while building the skills to lead in a complex care environment.
Duke Raleigh Hospital has been part of Duke Health since 1998 and has cared for Wake County for more than 35 years. Our more than 2,000 team members support 204 inpatient beds and a comprehensive range of services, including cancer care, cardiovascular care, neuroscience, advanced gastrointestinal care, and wound healing, along with 24/7 emergency care. As a campus of Duke University Hospital, we have earned national recognition for nursing excellence and for our commitment to inclusive, patient-centered care.
Everything we do is guided by our mission to improve health, advance knowledge, and inspire hope, and by our vision to be the trusted leader in health care through outstanding quality, an unparalleled patient experience, and a lasting commitment to our community.
Please note that we will not be recruiting for the 2027 through 2029 fellowship cycle as we establish the program. We look forward to opening recruitment for future fellowship class years and will share updates as those opportunities become available.
If you have any questions about the fellowship, please feel free to reach out. We would be glad to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Barbara Griffith
President, Duke Raleigh Hospital
