Duke Revenue Cycle and Financial Management Fellowship

The Fellowship

The Duke Revenue Cycle and Financial Management Fellowship program is designed to provide in-depth experience and knowledge of how revenue cycle financial management functions at all levels across the health system. 
 
The Duke Revenue Cycle and Financial Management Fellowship Program provides development opportunities that foster the learning of various competencies critical to the success of healthcare financial leaders, an understanding of the structure of Duke Medicine and an appreciation of the operational complexities of the revenue cycle and financial management in an academic environment.
 


Program and Rotation Structure

The Duke Revenue Cycle and Financial Management Fellowship is a two-year program.   
 
Fellows will spend approximately 4 weeks rotating in each of the Revenue Cycle operational areas within Duke University Health System giving them time to meet with all of the key individuals in various departments and to engage in projects, focusing on the competencies of the program. 
 

First Year

During the first year, fellows gain in-depth exposure to Duke University Health System Patients'. Rotations and projects within the Patient Revenue Management Organization are developed based on learning and developing competencies critical to the success of healthcare administrators.  These competencies include:

Second Year

In the second year, working closely with senior management, fellows will focus on specific areas of interest to develop in-depth knowledge and skills.  At this point in the fellowship, fellows are encouraged to focus on specific interests and engage in projects and learning that will prepare them for a post-fellowship job in their areas of interest.
