The Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) provides billing and support services to all entities of DUHS. Duke University Health System offers three fellowship programs:

Duke Ambulatory Care Services is an administrative model that includes the following outpatient entities: Duke Health and Wellness, Duke Primary Care, Hospital-Based Clinics, the Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC), PLLC (a separate for-profit entity, which functions similarly to a large, multi-specialty group practice), PDC Affiliations and Management Services, and Duke Home Care and Hospice. Over 100 primary and specialty care clinics comprise Ambulatory Care Services and are located on Duke’s main campus as well as across
North Carolina
. The clinics saw over 1.4 million visits in fiscal year 2008.
The Patient Revenue Management Organization is the centralized billing and collections office for the entire Duke University Health System. Formed in 2001, the PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of Scheduling, Registration, Coding, Reimbursement, Billing, Collections, Managed Care Contracting, and Customer Service. The organization consists of over 1,300 employees and in fiscal year 2008 the PRMO was responsible for billing $4 billion in gross charges while collecting $2 billion in cash.
